Cowles mountain is located within the city of San Diego and is part of the Mission Trails Regional Park. This mountain is a favorite among trail runners, walkers and people who are training for some future longer hike. For me I like to do this peak several times a month if I can get the time to do so. There are several trails to the top and most are about 3-4 miles round trip with a elevation gain of about 800 feet.
